The MSU Auto-ID Research and Testing Center focuses on the evaluation and improvement of Auto-ID systems and component reliability in order to increase efficiency, lower costs and reduce product and packaging waste, resulting in a more environmentally conscious global marketplace.
The AIRTC encompasses all facets of Auto-ID and sensory network technologies to increase supply chain visibility, resulting in greater process control and opening new doors for process improvement.
ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES:
Performance testing of Auto-ID system components including readers, antennae, RFID tags, printed barcodes and optical scanners
Unbiased evaluation of innovative Auto-ID solutions and applications
RFID hotspot testing for optimization of tag placement on shipping cases and pallet loads
Current research in supply chain applications within the medical device and pharmaceutical industries, incorportaing 1-D and 2-D barcode systems, and near-field and far-fieldRFID systems
Auto-ID testing in distribution scenarios including stretch wrapper, portal walk through (containers, truck, and dock door) and conveyors
