Susan E. Selke has been named director of the Michigan State University School of Packaging, effective immediately.
Selke served as acting director from 2007 to 2009 and was serving as associate director at the time of the new appointment. She is a professor in the School of Packaging and an adjunct professor of chemical engineering in the College of Engineering at MSU.

At the April 17 Board of Trustees meeting, 36 students were recognized with Board of Trustees’ Awards for having the highest scholastic average at the close of their last semester in attendance at Michigan State University.

Virtual Package Design and Prototyping - start date of August 25, 2015
Location: MSU School of Packaging Ternes Outreach Center
The online version of the Virtual Package Design and Prototyping Course for Industry members begins August 25, 2015. Participants may start the course in August 25. In addition, an optional on campus session will be held on August 25-27, 2015 in the Ternes Outreach Center.
Science, Agriculture, Food, Environment and Health Career Fair
Location: Breslin Center
Time: 2-6 p.m.
This unique career fair designed to connect employers with MSU participants studying for careers in a wide range of science-related fields. This will include employers offering internship and full time opportunties in the fields of Science, Agriculture, Food, Health, the Environment, and Natural Resources. MSU undergraduate and graduate students as well as postdoc scholars are encouraged to attend this event.

MSU’s largest career fair with more than 300 employers and 6,000 students over the two days. Something for all students, all majors, all colleges. This event attracts well-known employers representing a variety of industries offering full time, internship, and co-op opportunities for students.

Food Packaging Basics
Location: MSU School of Packaging's Ternes Outreach Center
This hands-on workshop is designed for those who have a role in managing packaging for food and related operations within their organizations. The workshop will offer full insight in all aspects of food packaging including function, materials, systems and processes, shelf life estimation, active packaging, modified atmosphere packaging, distribution, food security and more!
